Triumph launches limited edition Tiger 900 Bond bike

Triumph bikes has said it is launching a limited edition model to celebrate its involvement in No Time To Die – the eagerly awaited 25th James Bond film.

The British-owned bike builder is making 250 Tiger 900 Bond Editions – inspired by the Tiger 900 Rally Pro which is ridden by 007 in some of the film’s stunts.

The latest Bond film – the fifth and final movie featuring Daniel Craig – will premiere at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Tuesday, September 28.

In a rare joint engagement, The Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will step onto the red carpet to meet the stars and with singer Billie Eilish along with her musician brother Finneas O’Connell, who co-wrote the new Bond theme song.

The design workshop team at Triumph headquarters in Hinckley, Leicestershire, collaborated with the No Time To Die stunt team to configure several bikes for the movie – including specially prepared Tiger 900 and Scrambler 1200 models for some of the action sequences.

Triumphs have appeared in numerous films over the years including The Great Escape, Mission Impossible 2 and Jurassic World, and been ridden by Steve McQueen, Tom Cruise and Chris Pratt.

No Time To Die stunt coordinator Lee Morrison said: “The Tiger 900 is the most confidence-inspiring bike, it allows you to really push the ride as far as you want, you can take as many liberties as you want – stand up sideways drifting in third gear, slow wheelie it, slide it supermoto-style.

“I honestly think it’s one of the best bikes I’ve ever ridden, it’s fantastic.”

Triumph says the bikes are individually numbered and come with signed certificates of authenticity.

Each features a “unique and eye-catching” matt sapphire black paint job and 007 graphics, as well as “blacked out” detailing throughout.

The frame, headlight finishers, side panels, sump guard, pillion footrest hangers, auxiliary lamp shrouds and engine guards all have a premium, black finish, it says.

They also have a 007 start-up screen animation while the heated rider and pillion seat are crafted with Bond Edition branding.

The UK retail price is £16,500.

No Time To Die will finally be released in the UK on September 30 and in the States on October 8, after facing more than a year of delays due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

It takes place after Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica when his old friend Felix Leiter, played by Jeffrey Wright, from the CIA turns up asking for help.

A mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading to a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
