The Park Hospital will receive multi-million pound funding for treatments

The Park Hospital has secured life altering funding, to help local patients get treated with the best possible care.

The establishments new owners, The Circle Health Group, are investing £100m across its UK sites, including the Park Hospital, which covers patients in Nottingham, Grantham and Newark.

The Circle Health Group took on The Park Hospital in January 2020.

The investment comes in response to an increase in demand for services, for both private and NHS patients, as calls for treatment reach an all time high.

Opened in 1983, the hospital will get an extra laminar flow theatre, a new outpatient reception area and dedicated treatment rooms.

Having played such an important role in the region’s business community for over 40 years, the hospital were part of this years NottinghamshireLive Business Awards.

In addition to increased theatre capacity, the diagnostic facilities have also seen considerable backing, with a new CT scanner, digital x-ray and fluoroscopy rooms.

Amanda Dorkes highlighted the increase in demand in the local area. She said: “With unparalleled demand for our hospital, it is vital that we respond proactively to increase our capacity at this time and treat as many patients as we can.”

The Circle Health Group are well known in Nottingham, having opened their first hospital in 2008, the Nottingham Treatment Centre.

It supports patients whether they fund their own treatment or are supported by private healthcare insurance, and the group also works in partnership with the NHS.

The group’s most recent appointment, consultant orthopaedic surgeon, Ben Gooding, gave his thoughts on the funding. He said: “The investment and developments at The Park Hospital make this an exciting time to join the team.

“To see a brand-new theatre being lifted over the building is an impressive sight to behold and the increased number of patients that this will allow us to treat will enable an improved quality of life for so many.

“I am delighted to accept this role at The Park. Circle Health Group’s introduction of site-level clinical leadership and their approach to engaging with consultants plays a crucial part in delivering exceptional outcomes for patients.”
