Teesside’s Enterprise Made Simple secures £3m of contracts to grow business

A Teesside training company is growing its business after securing public sector contracts worth £3m.

Middlesbrough based Enterprise Made Simple (EMS) aims to help businesses build, scale and drive innovation through learning, coaching and accounting services.

Now the firm is itself expanding, after successfully renewing existing contracts and winning new ones, with help from Opportuni, a Teesside tech firm which gives SMEs the ability to match with Government tenders.

The company sought the support of Opportuni, the brainchild of entrepreneurs Bill MacGregor and Tim Ward, this year, to help it secure the renewal of several private sector contracts, while bidding on and winning public sector contracts.

Opportuni was highlighted by Tech Nation as one of the region’s rising star businesses, thanks to its innovative online platform connects businesses with tender opportunities, saving organisations endless costs in time and money.

EMS, which was launched in 2008, used Opportuni’s ‘Tinder for tenders’ service, which helped it work on ambitious scale-up plans to expand its business and diversify its customer base.

The firm’s chief executive Phil Teasdale said it found itself limited by the traditional routes for bidding on public sector tenders – the process of which is often full of barriers and overly complex – until it engaged with Opportuni.

“Since signing up, EMS has secured the renewal of vital contracts and we have expanded our reach by bidding on and winning larger public sector contracts, all in the click of a button.”
