Nominations open for this year’s ProCon Leicestershire Awards

Entries have opened for the annual ProCon Leicestershire Property and Construction Awards, with the winners revealed at an awards night in November.

The call for entries has now gone out for the extended 2020-2021 search for the best new buildings, after the November 2020 ceremony was cancelled due the pandemic.

ProCon Leicestershire is now on track to celebrate its eighteenth annual awards on November 11, 2021.

The organisers will welcome 620 people to Leicester City’s King Power Stadium to discover the best new local building projects – assuming new pandemic restrictions don’t affect public gatherings.

ProCon chair Umesh Desai said: “With the UK’s vaccination drive going so well and larger gatherings set to be permitted from late June, we’re as confident as we can be that the ProCon Awards will happen as planned.”

In a sign of widespread confidence in the awards, the existing sponsors continue to back the event and ticket holders who bagged their seats in March 2020 are holding onto their coveted places at the ceremony.

The ProCon Awards are backed by three corporate sponsors – Salus Approved Inspectors; Unique Window Systems; and Vistry Partnerships. The Leicester Mercury is the awards’ media partner.

Mr Desai, who is director of estates and facilities at De Montfort University, said: “Our huge thanks go to our corporate and award sponsors for being so supportive and also to our ticket holders for keeping faith that the ceremony will happen in 2021.

“We are sure that when the ceremony does take place, it will be the best celebration that people and organisations in Leicestershire’s property and construction sectors have ever seen. Enter now to be part of it.”

Entries are open for eight awards, for projects completed in an extended window of 30 months from January 2019 to July 2021.

The entry deadline is 5pm on July 7. Finalists will be showcased at an event on October 13.

The awards, which are free to enter, include residential and non-residential schemes, an infrastructure award sponsored by Charles Henry & Sons, a regeneration award sponsored by Keepmoat Homes and a new category for the best property deal.

Sponsorship packages, some of which include a table for the ceremony, are still available.
