Global consultancy group Atkins has become the latest firm to announce it is relocating its Birmingham office to the £700 million city centre Paradise scheme.
The company, which offers services such as engineering, design, planning and project management, has agreed a deal to take 36,000 sq ft over two floors at Two Chamberlain Square.
Atkins currently has around 850 staff based in Holliday Street at The Axis building but this is due to be demolished and replaced with a brand new block as part of the Axis Square scheme.
It has agreed a 15-year lease for the space at Two Chamberlain Square where it will also join law firms DLA Piper and Knights and financial services firm Mazars.

Atkins is hoping to complete its move to Paradise this autumn following fit-out work.
This latest announcement from the Paradise team follows the recent news that built environment consultancy Arup is set to move to One Centenary Way which is under construction and will be the third office building completed at Paradise.
Denise Raisey, Atkins’ regional director for corporate real estate, workplace and services, said: “Our new home in the city is not just a great quality workplace in the heart of Birmingham but it will provide our teams with excellent collaboration spaces to work together across our divisions to deliver for our local, national and international clients.
“Our new space will give us the opportunity to embrace fully agile working, with excellent collaboration opportunities for teams to work in designated ‘villages’ that facilitate greater choice in both how and when colleagues work.”
The first two office buildings at Paradise – One and Two Chamberlain Square – have now been completed as has the new public realm in Chamberlain Square while future plans include more office buildings, a hotel and a 49-storey apartment tower.
Rob Groves, regional development director with Paradise development manager MEPC, added: “Atkins is another very welcome addition to Two Chamberlain Square where we have now created one of the city’s major professional services hubs.
“We’re tremendously excited to be welcoming yet another major international professional services brand to the Paradise estate.
“On top of other recent occupier announcements from Arup, DLA Piper, Knights and Mazars, this move shows the momentum behind Paradise as we make progress with phase two of the development.”
