There will also be a Lifetime Achievement Award and trophy for the Businesswoman of the Year announced on the night.

During the last awards in 2019 the Businesswoman of the Year award was presented to Charlotte Cox, who was global brands director of Canterbury and is now president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa of parent company Pentland Brands.

Mrs Cox’s work has involved leading a team in Nottingham in the development of kits for the 2019 Rugby World Cup, including the England team’s kits, which created dozens of jobs.

The 2018 Businesswoman of the Year was Mary Hunter. She joined digital solutions group Columbus Global, in Annesley, in 1998 and during her time with the company its turnover increased from £2 million to £25 million.

In recognition of her work, the managing director was nominated in both the Inspirational Woman of the Year and Female Executive categories.

Nottinghamshire Live editor Natalie Fahy said now more than ever we should be celebrating our female captains of industry – from the CEOs and finance bosses of our top companies, to high-flying career accountants and lawyers, “mumpreneurs” and entrepreneurs.

Ms Fahy said: “Nottingham and Nottinghamshire are full of successful female businesswomen and through my job I am lucky enough to not just support them but also to work alongside them in all sorts of areas.

“Right now it is incredibly important to champion them as they have so much to offer the post-Covid recovery of our region.”
